I christened it MOGGYDON this is the piece that I won the Batsford prize for excellence of technique for lace from published pattern in The Lace Guild’s Reflections competition This pattern is from A WIDER VIEW, DESIGNS SUITABLE FOR: BOBBIN & NEEDLE LACE, EMBROIDERY AND QUILTING by Barry Biggins. The fillings which are all from 121 HONITON LACE FILLINGS by Christine Hawken. This pattern was designed by Wendy Chapman and published by The Lace Guild. The original design was worked in Milanese lace, I reduced the scale and worked it in Honiton. This pattern is from HONITON LACE PATTERNS by Elsie Luxton. This is the first main raised piece of Honiton I worked, I had been making Honiton for a year when I worked this piece The Happy Bee. Appeared in a Lace Guild magazine a long time ago This pattern is by own design, if combines one of the ovals in A WIDER VIEW, DESIGNS SUITABLE FOR: BOBBIN & NEEDLE LACE, EMBROIDERY AND QUILTING by Barry Biggins with design elements found in a Bucks Point pattern in The Lace Guild’s collection that was used as part of a design challenge. My pattern appeared in LACE and is included in the Patterns section of my site.
